In September 2005,
Philadelphia narrative painter John Faherty, Had a solo exhibition of his recent paintings at the Smoyer Gallery,Olin Hall Roanoke College, in Salem Virginia.
His first solo show in seven years is a examination of his work since 1998. This body of work has a more personal and deliberate approach to subject and surface. The Artist deals with subjects of family, spirituality and the nature of existance with a simplified narrative style. Using layer upon layer of thin washes of oil building up a luminous unified color pattern he has created a unique and dynamic vision.
