Most of the photographs in this motley collection were taken during the mid-to-late 1980s, and the subjects are jazz musicians with a direct connection to Detroit. There are some obvious exceptions – Sonny Rollins, Larry Coryell, and a few others. I got some good shots of these players. How could I omit them?
The appearance of this site has evolved steadily. I'm still not happy with it, and expect to keep tinkering ... at least for the time being.
When all is said and done, these pictures are a record of, and homage to, the musicians whose work (and in some cases friendship) entertained and inspired me for many years.
