Bob Lasnek is one of the most talented MIDI arrangers on the internet. He was a prolific contributor to the America Online MIDI files collection until it was shut down by AOL. ... in Bob's own words:
my taste in music tends to lean to jazz, fusion, and latin. after buying a lot of books, and a few lessons with a couple of local jazz instructors, i finally figured out that crazy thing called the cycle of 4ths and 5ths. from there it was buy more books, listen to albums, practice, and then find out i still don't know anything! i am a guitar player, so i listen a lot to players like pat martino, john schofield, pat metheny, robben ford, mike stern, scott henderson, etc. ... and then there's the brecker bros., weather report, santana, and the mahavishnu orchestra, to name a few. i play an ibanez GB10 hollowbody, and have a couple of strats. i use a roland GR50 guitar synth for midi. sound modules include a roland U220, and a sound canvas SC88 PRO. for software, i use cakewalk pro audio 6.0.
