As you can see from the list below, I'm quite a multifaceted kind of guy. I like doing loads of different things. Some I still do, some I've done but don't do much any more. Some follow me through life. Some of the things that I've done (but, of course, am not limited to) are, in no particular order, As you can tell, I hate being a couch potato. Although I am a bit of a history channel junkie these days. :) And I have tons of other interests, but never enough time to make them a hobby.

Bowling

I used to be a member of the Monday Night Bowling League, a gay (and friends) Candle Pin league. Unfortunately, Fenway Park threw Ryan Family Amusements out into the street, and the new West Roxbury location is hard to get to by T, so I've gone on hiatus for now :( If you live down south, this could be your chance to sign up.

Darts

Given the loss of bowling, I thought I'd give darts a try. Two local clubs sponsor the Soft Tip dart league.

Railroading

I'm a big railfan.

I grew up on the New Haven line, a 4 track electrified main line from new haven (CT) to New York. As a kid, I always loved watching all the freights rumble by; and that's carried right into adulthood. :) Today I ride Amtrak often to home in CT, and have been across country by rail several times. (gotta scan some of those photos).

Today I still enjoy watching trains and am fascinated by railroading in general, with no specific time periods, railroads, or motive power (although the New Haven still has my heart).

I'm a member of the National Association of Railroad Passengers (NARP) and the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Society (NHRHTS), as well as the Boston Street Railway Association and the Mass Bay Railroad Enthusiasts. I also subscribe to Model Railroader, Railpace and Trains (and I still miss Passenger Train Journal and the New Electric Railway Journal).

I am also involved in Model Railroading. Although I have nothing serious at home, I'm a member of the North Shore Model RR Club (web guy and former Chief Engineer, Board member, and President. not all at once though. :) where we have a fab layout, and I get to play with a big train set without cluttering up my house. If you're ever in the Boston or Boston north area, consider dropping on by.

You can also find some of my railroad photos on my photo pages
