Events for consideration are marked as tentative and if enough Color Guard members commit to attending the event, it is marked as confirmed and the camp will participate in that event.

Upcoming Events

December 5, 2009 - Spotsylvania Courthouse Christmas Parade at 2:00 pm. This ceremony is CONFIRMED because enough color bearers have committed to attend.

December 6, 2009 - Town of Orange Christmas Parade at 5:00 pm at Madison Road, Main and Caroline Streets. Line-up begins at 4:00 pm, the parade starts at 5:00 pm, and immediately afterward there will be a tree lighting ceremony at 6:00 pm In Taylor Park.This ceremony is CONFIRMED because enough color bearers have committed to attend.

January 15, 2010 - Annual Lee/Jackson Day Ceremony at the Virginia State Capitol Building in Richmond, VA at 6:00 pm in the Old Hall House of Delegates. This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

January 18, 2010 - Annual Lee/Jackson Day Ceremony in Culpeper at 1:00 pm. This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

January 18, 2010 - Annual Lee/Jackson Day Ceremony in Fredericksburg at 1:00 pm at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church, 1019 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

April 26, 2010 - Ancestor Night hosted by the Fredericksburg Chapter UDC at 6:00 pm. Location to be determined. This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

May 30, 2010 - Confederate Memorial Day at the Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery at 2:00 pm. This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

June 5, 2010 - Jefferson Davis Ceremony in Culpeper at 1:30 pm.This ceremony is TENTATIVE until enough color bearers have committed to attend.

Past Events

January 16, 2009 - Lee/Jackson Joint Ceremony with the UDC & SCV at the Capitol Building in Richmond, VA at 6:00 pm. Color Guard should be there by 5:00 pm at the Capitol designated parking lot to receive flags and gear. No weapons of any kind will be allowed in the Capitol Building including swords, knives, pistols, etc.

January 19, 2009 - Lee/Jackson/Maury Day Ceremony at 1:00 at the Culpeper United Methodist Church. The guest speaker will be Don Hakenson, author of "This Forgotten Land" and the event will be hosted by the Culpeper Chapter UDC.

February 7 , 2009 - Funeral for Compatriot Dennis Shiflett in Sandston, VA. Color Guard was requested.

February 21 , 2009 - Rev. Lacy Camp Charter Anniversary Dinner/Meeting at Perkins Restaurant on Route 17 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Compatriot Michael Virts who joined the Rev. Lacy Camp as an Associate member at our January meeting. The topic will be religion during the WBTS.

April 18, 2009 - Barton St. Monument Dedication at 2:00 p.m. in Fredericksburg. This monument honors the 51 Confederate soldiers from 7 Southern States whose remains lie in the Barton Street Cemetery. The dedication location will be at the corner of 531 George Street and Barton Street.

May 1, 2009 - Warrenton Parade at 10:00 a.m. Color Guard to form up at 9:00 at the Visitor's Center.

May 9, 2009 - McGowan Monument Dedication at the Bloody Angle, Spotsylvania Battlefield at 10:30 a.m. 5th Brigade Color Guard has been requested and should form up at 9:30 a.m.

May 16, 2009 - Wirz Ceremony, Mount Olivet Cemetery in Washington, DC at 11:00 a.m.

May 23, 2009 - Confederate Cross of Honor Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. for 1st Lt. Thomas R. Alexander at the family cemetery located behind the residence at 15005 Afton Ct, Dumfries, VA. Lt. Alexander is the ancestor of Ron Gordon of the Maury Camp who plays the bugle and often joins our group for events.

May 23, 2009 - Luminary at Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery at 7:00 p.m.

May 24, 2009 - Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery Ceremony at 2:00 p.m.

May 25, 2009 - Confederate Memorial Day Observance in Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. At 9:00 a.m., the Color Guard will march from the Barton Street Monument into the cemetery.

May 25, 2009 - Confederate Grave Dedication, Masonic Lodge, Fredericksburg at 2:00 p.m.

June 6, 2009 - Jefferson Davis Ceremony in Culpeper at 1:00 p.m.

July 18, 2009 - Manassas Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. next to the Visitor's Center at the Manassas Battlefield. The color guard should get their gear and form up at 9:15 a.m. This event was hosted by the Virginia Division UDC.

August 3, 2009 - Request to post the colors at Johnson Funeral Home for the viewing of Carol Martin.

September 12, 2009 - Rev. Lacy Camp September meeting and dinner at Perkins Restaurant on Route 17 in Fredericksburg at 4:00 pm. Our guest speaker will be Billie Earnest who will be speaking on the Life and Times of General and Mrs. George E. Pickett.

September 20, 2009 - Grave marker dedication in Hollywood Cemetery for Sgt. John D. Clopton, Company E, 19th Mississippi Infantry.

September 26, 2009 - Warrenton-Fauquier Heritage Day Parade at 11:00 am starting at the intersection of Lee Street & 5th Street and ending at Chestnut Street.

October 17, 2009 - Spring Hill Cemetery. Lynchburg Memorial service for General James Dearing at 2:00 pm, 3000 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA  24501.

November 11, 2009 - Fredericksburg Masonic Church grave marking at 2:00 pm, 908 Charles Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. This ceremony was CANCELED due to rain and will be rescheduled at a later date.

November 16, 2009 - Fredericksburg Chapter #163 Historical Night at Berea Baptist Church, 28 Fleet Road, Fredericksburg, VA at 6:00 pm. Presentation of medals. Guest speaker: Dan Janzegers.
