2009–2010
The Fredericksburg Chapter 163 United Daughters of the Confederacy participates in numerous events throughout the year. Some are annual events while others are one time only. Listed below are upcoming events for 2009–2010.
09/21/09 – Chapter
meeting at 12:00 noon at Carlos O'Kelly's Restaurant, 2306 Plank Road,
Fredericksburg, VA.
10/1-4/09 – 114th Annual Virginia Division Convention, Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center, Staunton, VA.
10/19/09 – Chapter Meeting at Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery. There will be a tour of the cemetery and the guest speaker will be Dan Janzegers. Drinks & snacks should be brought by each member.
11/05-10/09 – 116th Annual General Convention at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Biloxi, MS.
11/16/09 – Historical Evening at Berea Baptist Church, 28 Fleet Road, Fredericksburg, VA at 6:00 p.m. Presentation of medals. Guest speaker: Dan Janzegers. Finger food by all chapter members.
12/07/09 – Chapter Meeting and Christmas Party at 11:30 a.m. at Amy's Cafe, Falmouth, VA. Gift exchange $10.00 and gifts for the needy.
12/13/09 – (To be confirmed) Commemoration at the Kirkland Monument of the 146th Anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg at 2:00 p.m. Location: Sunken Road, Fredericksburg, VA. Sponsored by the National Park Service. Chapter will present a wreath.
01/18/10 – Lee-Jackson Commemoration at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church, Pincess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA. Speaker: to be determined. Hostess: Chapter members.
02/22/10 – Chapter meeting at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem Church Library, 2607 Salem Church Road, Spotsylvania, VA. Program: Fredericksburg Spinners & Weavers Guild. Speaker: to be announced. Hostess: Lois Bailey, Debra Payne, and Shawn Martin.
03/14/10 – General Spring Board Meeting, UDC Memorial Building - 328 North Boulevard, Richmond, VA.
03/22/10 – Chapter meeting at 1:00 p.m. (location to be determined). Program: War Between the States Relics. Guest Speaker: Dan Cox. Hostess: Mary Gray, Jill Simmons, and Sandy Wright.
04/25/10 – Fifth District Conference. Time and location to be announced.
04/26/10 – Memorial to Ancestors at 6:00 p.m. (location to be determined). Covered dish by all chapter members.
05/17/10 – Program: White Elephant Sale at 11:30 a.m. at Vinny's Restaurant, 2312 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA.
June 2010 – June Planning Meeting. Date, time, and location to be announced.
