On
June 6, Virginia Division President Susie Masters and President
General Jane Durden pose with other UDC ladies at the conclusion
of the Jefferson Davis Birthday Celebration in Hollywood Cemetery
in Richmond.
On
July 18, members of the Fredericksburg Chapter attended the Anniversary
of the 1st Battle of Manassas Ceremony in the National Manassas Battlefield
Park.
Virginia
Division President Susie Masters was the guest speaker of this ceremony
hosted by the Virginia Division UDC. Greetings were brought by the
Park Superintendent and the 5th Brigade Color Guard presented the
colors.
On
September 21, we held our chapter meeting at Carlos O'Kellys Restaurant
in Fredericksburg. Kathleen Abel and Barbara Dove received a supplemental
certificate for Pvt. James M. Dennis.
Mattie
Shelton received 5 supplemental certificates for Pvt. Abraham F.
Newton, Pvt. George Washington Newton, Pvt. John B. Potts, Pvt. Lewis
Stevens, and Pvt. Monroe Stevens.
Chapter
President Shawn Martin received a supplemental certificate for Pvt.
Andrew Jackson Russ.
Janet
Sullivan enjoyed the luncheon and meeting at Carlos O'Kellys, as
we all did.
On
September 26, some of our chapter members marched in the Warrenton-Fauquier
Heritage Day Parade.
