About Us
The Princeton United Methodist Church began as a mission church of the Watkinsville Methodist Church in 1835. In 1833, a meeting house was constructed on the west side of the Oconee River. In 1961, our present educational building was built on property adjoining the old church and the cemetery. In 1979, the present sanctuary was constructed and within a few years was debt free. Our mission statement proclaims that the "Princeton United Methodist Church strives to present Jesus Christ to our expanding community by building on the Methodist traditions of Biblical study, social awareness, welcoming fellowship and personal involvement of all our members." This mission statement is fulfilled through the various missions and ministries to our community and the encouragement of spiritual growth within our congregation.
