Thank You From Project Safe
Princeton UMC
Thanks (for choosing) to continue your ministry with Project Safe by donating $600. We’re grateful for Princeton UMC and its ongoing support of our work.
I’m pleased to report that our outcomes for 2007 were strong. 89% of sheltered adults achieved their housing goal or safe housing after shelter. 72% achieved their employment goals and 81% achieved their other goals addressing things such as education or legal issues.
Our departure survey results are also gratifying. The overwhelming majority of respondents state that their symptoms are less severe, they have more knowledge and skills to cope and plan for their safety, they feel their lives have improved, they understand their rights and how police and courts work.
As you know however, outcomes – while important – only tell part of the story. The rest of the story is found in the hopes, accomplishments and challenges of each woman and child we get to know at Project Safe. From the woman so terrified who whispered throughout her call on our hotline the other day to the mother and child who literally danced in our office having just gotten the keys to their apartment, we share our clients’ pain as well as success.
Donations like yours ensure that we will have the resources to continue to support battered women and children in their efforts to escape the pain and humiliation of abuse in the home. Thank you again for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Joan Prittie
Executive Director
