Dime Ministry

The following story launched "The Dime Ministry." It is a true story that happened in the spring of 2004 on the occasion of one of the Saturday sack lunch days. Click here to read it.

This is how Dime Ministry works. The children of our church are in charge of the Dime Ministry. The members of the congregation keep all of the dimes that they receive while shopping, etc. until the last Sunday of each month. On the last Sunday the children stand at the back of the sanctuary with little buckets and collect the dimes as everyone leaves church. The dimes are counted and they are used to fund our church's commitment to the feeding of the guests at Our Daily Bread (a soup kitchen based at Oconee Street Methodist).

If you would like to participate in this children's ministry all you have to do is save your dimes. Because of this ministry, we have been able to commit to the first Tuesday of every month and to four Saturday sack lunches.
