The Camp Glisson Experience Lasts A Lifetime
Susan won’t be born until 2012, but next summer can change Susan’s life completely.
Susan’s parents, her pastor, her middle school teacher, her youth minister will be among the more than 2,400 summer campers we anticipate serving in 2008. These people and others, who will play key roles in shaping who Susan is and who she can be, will themselves be shaped by their experience at Camp Glisson next summer.
A week at Camp Glisson doesn’t last just a week; it lasts a lifetime. This is the transformative nature of the summer camp experience: Living together in Christian community in the midst of God’s creation profoundly affects the way campers see themselves, their relationships with neighbors, and the created world.
In 2024, our 100th year of ministry, Susan may be among the campers whose lives are changed by attending Glisson. But the way Susan sees the world will have been shaped before her arrival by campers who will attend Glisson in 2008 and will play a formative role in her life. Our ministry builds generation upon generation.
As you consider your support of this place, this holy ground on which Christ’s love has been building spiritual lives for 80 years, please remember the thousands of “Susans” not yet here and the multiplying impact of your gift.
