We made it to St. Louis.

Tom and Lois have already made us feel welcomed with a great dinner and good company.

Mom's highlight today was the Truman Library in Independence, MO.

Talk to you again when we have rested.

Well (insert the name of the African kid in "About Schmidt"), we had a nice warm room last night after the rather tedious drive.

Nothing much happened today other than we stopped at the "Great Platte River Road Archway Monument" as depicted in the movie "About Schmidt".

A little cheesy, but not too bad.

The weather was very nice and we're now in an Air Force Family camp in Omaha, NE. I am attaching a photo of our site.

We spent Tuesday night at the Teton's Colter Bay campground where you, Erin and I were in 1988. The lake was not where it was in1988, they've had a drought.

It was cool and blustery with forcasts of rain/snow overnight.

It did go down to the high 20's overnight, but we slept fairly well and there was no rain or snow.

We got up at 6:00AM, about an hour before sunrise, and started East.

About a mile outside Colter Bay we stopped at a Teton overlook. The mountains had been obscured by clouds most of the day before and I did want some pictures.

It turns out this was a great picture taking opportunity, the pros were already there.

We had to wait around 40 minutes for the sun to finally hit the mountains. We used that time to have a little breakfast while trying to stay warm.

Today we traveled to cheyenne, WY. It was a colorful drive to say the least. Blowing rain, snow, sleet, and gravel from trucks either passing us head-on or in the same direction.

The van repair went smoothly, it was the right front wheel bearing.

Colleen and I debated about whether to get a room Sunday night or save some money. Fortunately, because we knew we'd have some dead time Monday morning waiting for the van, we elected to get a room within walking distance of the repair shop.

This decision turned out to be propitious because that night Colleen came down with stomach flu. We certainly needed the facilities in that room.

We took it easy the most of the day, Monday, hoping that Colleen would begin to feel better.

We considered avoiding Yellowstone all together and staying on the interstate. In addition to Colleen's helath, the weather reports were starting to call for a higher and higher chance of rain and/or snow.

Late in the day Colleen did begin feeling better and we made the bold move to try for Yellowstone again. This time we went by way of West Yellowstone.

We arrived in West Yellowstone at sunset intending to camp inside the park. Unfortunately, the closest campground was full so we stayed "for free" in West Yellowstone.

The next day turned out to be pretty good, with very little rain. We saw elk, buffalo, and a wolf, but the only bear we saw was a statue.

We continued on to the Tetons where we are now, September 16th, our 31st wedding anniversary.
