We had another van setback today. This time it is the water pump. The leak appears to be temperature related, it was cold this morning when the leak occurred. It stopped when the fluids warmed up. We're spending an extra night in Dayton to see what happens tomorrow morning. Regardless of what happens we are going up to Detroit tomorrow to see Erin and Chris and meet Chris' folks. We're making the best of it here in Dayton. We visited the Air Force museum and had a nice dinner at the Officer's Club. (I feel a little bad about the picture of Colleen, she didn't realize there was the unflattering name behind her. It in no way reflects her demeanor or how I feel about her.) 10/3 van update: Chris referred us to a good repair shop near his home where we found out the coolant leak was the result of loose hose clamps, the water pump is OK. Had a nice dinner with Chris' folks last night and another planned for tonight. Photos to come later.

Has it really been 10 days?! Colleen and I want than Tom and Lois for their hospitality and patience. We had a great time in St. Louis complete with two walking tours of downtown, a visit to Effingham, a visit to U.S. Grant's home, a Ram football game, excellent meals prepared by Tom, and great company. The van took three shops and several hundred dollars to get right with the world and get us to Dayton, OH where we are now. Wright-Patterson AFB, is the birthplace of aviation. I'm writing this from our nice suite which is complete with all the amenities including a wet-bar, but has a very small bed. It's a lot better than staying outside which is what we were prepared for. Tomorrow we'll do a little shopping, visit the museum, and move on to the northeast.
