We really had enjoyable visits with Dave and Carla & Jerry in the Chicago area.
Dave (the optometrist with a very nice office) was nice enough to give us both an eye exam and give Colleen reassurance that reading without headaches is still in her future.
Carla and Jerry had a wonderful day planned in the city but the rain/wind got in the way of it. We instead were able to get some needed rest and good conversation and food.
Between Carla's novels and paintings and Jerry's photography and feats on water skis and skates, we were duly impressed. Attached is a sample of Carla's photoshop work.
On the way back to St. Louis we had another opportunity to visit Colleen's dad and step-mom and Kate. It was nice but sad that this would be the last opportunity for some time.
We had another short recovery period with Tom and Lois and we're now back on the road for the trip Washington DC and points south on the eastern seaboard.
