TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
Breeder, Keslie Joyce, hereby transfers the ownership of the
following puppy to the new owner (s) on the date the contract is
signed. All puppies are sold with Limited Registration. If
puppy is sold as pet quality, puppy cannot be used for breeding
and must be spayed or neutered by the age of 12 months. Copy of
spay/neuter verification signed by vet needs to be sent to
Breeder when complete. Show/Breeding quality puppies have
separate stipulations that are outlined below. The
new owner has 3 days from date of transfer of ownership to obtain
a veterinary well puppy checkup from their veterinarian and
notify Breeder of the Exam Results. If the puppy is found to be
unhealthy (a written diagnosis from the veterinarian must be
provided), the puppy may be returned for a FULL REFUND. No cash
refunds will be given after 3 days from date of transfer.

SHOW/BREEDING STIPULATIONS
Puppies that are sold on a Show/Breeding contract are
evaluated as closely meeting the breed standard at 7 weeks of age
and have been temperament tested (at the same age) as being a dog
that would improve the White Shepherd Breed. New Owners are not
allowed to breed this dog until they have had hips & elbows
evaluated and certified by either OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for
Animals) or by the Penn Hip method for hips and elbows done by
OFA. The hips and elbows must be found free of
dysplasia and have an acceptable score. Females must wait until
they are age two before being bred. New owners are expected
to title their breeding dog in either confirmation or a
performance sport. A championship title in UKC
confirmation as a White Shepherd is acceptable. A
title in obedience (CD, CDX, etc) in either UKC or AKC is
acceptable. A title in flyball is acceptable.
A title in Agility in AKC or UKC is acceptable. A title in
Herding is acceptable.
When new Owner has met the above stipulations for
breeding/show contract and written confirmation of passing
hip/elbow scores and titles have been sent to Breeder, limited
registration will be lifted immediately and full breeding rights
will be granted to new owner. Breeder will assist new
owner as much as possible to find trainers or classes or vets
certified to check hips/elbows if this is new to them.
Breeder will help new owner with promoting new litter on
Breeder’s web-site. Starr Shepherds is proud of
all dogs that we place in show/breeding homes as they will go on
to better the White Shepherd breed.
HEALTH/GENETIC GUARANTEE
As the Breeder of your new puppy I have done everything I can
to assure that the health of your puppy is excellent. I only
breed adult dogs that have OFA or Penn Hip certified hips with no
evidence of dysplasia and who have no genetic health conditions
(to include retained testicles, mega-esophagus, dwarfism and
other genetic conditions). Understand that with genetics, and
breeding dogs specifically, nothing is 100% guaranteed - although
it is rare, even with the best of planning and breeding,
undesirable genetic conditions do occur even out of healthy
parents. Your puppy is guaranteed to be suitable for the purpose
of which he was purchased. If you have purchased a Pet Quality
puppy and the puppy is unable to live a normal pet life due to
discomfort from a genetic condition you will be given a
replacement puppy of equal value. If you have purchased a
Breeding Quality puppy and the puppy has a genetic condition that
allows him to live a healthy pet quality life, yet is something
that should not be used in a breeding program, you will be
allowed to choose a second puppy at half price (the difference
between a pet quality puppy and a breeding quality puppy). A
written diagnosis from a veterinarian must be provided and
although the owners may keep the puppy, he/she must be spayed or
neutered prior to receiving a replacement puppy. If you have
allowed the dog to breed, then you are accepting the dog to be in
good health and no guarantee will be honored. All costs
associated with returning a puppy for replacement and having the
replacement puppy shipped (if necessary) to Purchaser's home will
be paid for by Purchaser.
Paperwork/Registration
Puppy comes with AKC registration application (unless litter
is UKC registered only or in addition to), 4 generation pedigree,
copies of OFA certificates on both parents (if available),
vaccination/de-worming schedule and pictures of both parents.
Puppy will be tattooed prior to being placed in new owners home,
unless new owner has expressed that they do not want this to
occur. New owner must have puppy microchipped. New
owners have one year from date of issue of AKC or UKC registration
application to register their puppy in their name. AKC
Registration is currently $20, there is a penalty charged for
late registration. UKC Registration is currently $16, there is
also a penalty charged for late registration. The
registered name of puppy must include STARR in the beginning of
the name. We are proud of ALL the puppies we produce and hope
that you will be proud that your puppy came from STARR SHEPHERDS.
NEW OWNER OBLIGATIONS
New owners promise to provide puppy a kind and loving
environment, with proper care and necessary veterinarian care.
Puppy must be taken through an obedience class by 4- 8 months of
age. I cannot stress enough, the importance of Obedience class
for a White German Shepherd puppy. No guarantee will be honored
without written documentation of completing the class. The
personality of a puppy is well developed by 4-6 months of age and
improper socialization (or lack of) can result in an overly
anxious/or fearful puppy when attempting socialization as a much
older pup or adult. A well- mannered puppy does NOT just
happen, your puppy will become what you allow him to become.
Breeder may be contacted at any time for advice and concerns.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have questions about your
puppy. An occasional update and picture of puppy would be greatly
appreciated by Breeder. New owners must keep address and phone
number current with Breeder. Legal actions will be taken to
return puppy to Breeder if reports of neglect are indicated. If
for ANY reason the new owners can no longer keep the puppy they
MUST notify Breeder immediately. Breeder and New Owner will work
together to find an acceptable new home for the puppy. If an
acceptable home cannot be found the Breeder will take
responsibility of the puppy. Under no circumstance is a STARR
puppy ever to be taken to the Humane Society or turned over to a
Rescue Organization.
SHIPPING OF PUPPY:
If puppy needs to be shipped out of the State of Oregon or
Internationally, all shipping cost, cost of crate and all
associated health certificates needed will be paid by the
New Owner prior to puppy being shipped.
