Joy studied art and design at The School of Fine Arts, Washington University in St. Louis and graduated with honors. After a career in graphic design, she decided to follow her dream of writing and illustrating for children.

She uses her love of color to create bright and whimsical illustrations. See her new acrylic paintings featuring a group of multi-cultural friends. Joy also paints with watercolor and watercolor pencils.

Her black and white drawings evoke just the right mood for both her historical and fanciful styles.

Joy does work for educational publishers as well.
