A Mixed A Cappella Chorus Offering Rich Harmony In Jazz, Swing And Popular Styles
Boston Jazz Voices is a mixed a cappella chorus of eighteen singers. It was founded in the mid 1980's (as The New England Close Harmony Ensemble) for the pleasure of singing harmonically complex arrangements made famous by the Singers Unlimited. The arrangements were written by Gene Puerling, who sang with the Hi-Lo's, an all male close-harmony group popular in the 1950's and 60's.
Boston Jazz Voices has since extended its repertoire to include other published and original arrangements. Most songs are from the American songbook, with jazz harmonies and swing rhythm. Boston Jazz Voices performs throughout New England, and took its sound to Paris in the mid 1990's. Boston Jazz Voices has also performed live on 88.9 WERS Boston.
Boston Jazz Voices is directed by John Paquette. Please join our mailing list to be notified of upcoming performances.

First Parish Church
Tickets $12, $8 for students and seniors
Fretless is a leading Boston Area a cappella quintet featuring male and female singers with a repertoire of jazz, pop and classical pieces. Fretless chose its name to represent the musical freedom — and challenge — of making music with a fretless instrument: the voice. You will be amazed by this entertaining, innovative and highly accomplished vocal group.
Pianist Elliot Steger has composed and recorded three albums of original music and performed to sold-out houses. Steger’s compositions reflect jazz, blues, pop and new age influences as well as the precision of his longtime training as a classical pianist. In 2002, he was nominated by Just Plain Folks — an organization of over 20,000 musicians, composers, and producers — for best solo instrumental song of the year out of a pool of over 100,000 songs.
First Parish Church in Bedford is located on the Common at 75 Great Road (Route 62/4/225) in Bedford, MA. 781-275-7994. Directions are available at First Parish in Bedford
