Growing up in
California, I was spoiled by the
Sierra Nevada Mountains. As a child, I went camping in the Sierras
every summer until I was about 22 years old. I thought nothing in the world
could be more beautiful than the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
I was wrong. When I visited the French and Swiss Alps in the summer of 1997,
I discovered them to be the most beautiful mountains I had ever seen. There
is no comparison with any mountains I have seen in California, Oregon or
Washington. The Alps are truly awesome. These pictures are from
random spots in the alps, so I could not clump them into a "category" or place.
They are mostly from scenic
look outs when my tour guides (thank you by the way) stopped for a look about.
I do have other Alps photographs. The first set being photos from
Haute Savoie. Haute Savoie is on the French side of the Alps and I have various towns and villages.
