Ile la Cite (city island, the heart of Paris) boasts more than
Notre Dame.
It has two other interesting landmarks which are covered by the museum pass (the pass that lets you
into any museum in Paris). The first landmark is the Sainte Chapel The Sainte Chapel was built by Louis IX to house the
crown of thorns. Unlike Notre Dame it was finished by one generation in the Gothic
Style. The style allowed the buttresses to hold the roof up so that the walls could
be replaced by beautiful stain glass windows telling biblical stories. Another important landmark
,which I would have missed with out the museum pass, is the Conciegerie. The Conciegerie is a former prison that held political prisoners and even
famed dietitian Marie Antoinette. The Architecture is worth a look, as well as a peek for the historical important
