The Matterhorn is a world famous mountain above the "village" of Zermatt. It is quite unlike any mountain that I have seen or probably ever will see. Its unique shape, towering above all around it, is awe inspiring. The more intrepid attempt to climb it. The less, catch a lift up to get a close view (well worth the money) then hike around the "foothills". These photos are of the Matterhorn and of my hiking around it.
