Schilthorn Photos
Schilthorn InformationSchilthorn Picctures

The Schilthorn is the other "major" mountain of the Berner Oberland. The Schilthorn was made famous by the James Bond move "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" when Bond skied down from the top. Since then, visitors have flocked to its rotating resturant. Located high above the towns of Murren and Gimmelwald, it offers views of the Jungfrau, and the Lauterbrunnen valley to the south and the unexploited stretches of the Oberland to the north. You can even see lake Thun.

The first part of these photos are of the Schilthorn and were taken from the top. The rest of the photos are from a very scenic hike I took around the base of the Schilthorn. (For those of you going to the region I combined the Flower Trail and the Northface Trail). The one nice thing about hiking on the Schilthorn side is you are treated to fantastic views of the Ogre, Monk and Jungfrau. I hope you enjoy the photos. Any comments, please E-mail me, .
