In March of 07, Airbus flew one of their new A380s to O'Hare to show to Lufthansa staff and crew. A mob of O'Hare personnel turned out to watch it land. The guy who gave me these pics had a great vantage point near the runway. Enjoy.Here it is on approach..

The A380 isn't really that much bigger than a 747 - about 50' wider wingspan and only about 8' longer. The big size difference is in body height. The A380 is a full-length, double-deck passenger area, so the body is very tall compared to its width. The trick at the gate will be to get jetways up to the second level doors. Look at the upper row of windows and note where the doors are.
Roll out. Check out the major curvature of the wings as they meet the body.
