I put my car key in a dry bag, inside a dry bag. Why? Because Chrysler makes a user hostile key to go with their anti-theft system. It's huge and has a chip in the handle which talks to the car's computer. You can't run the car with a plain metal key copy. Without the brain in the key, the engine won't run. I need this like a hole in the head, but you can't turn it off and use a plain metal key. Sigh.If the key gets dunked it'll fry the chip and then you can't drive your car. So, double layer protection against water.
