Silver Lake

The first water I paddled in my new Folbot GII was Silver Lake in Blackwell Forest Preserve. It's a small lake only 65 acres with a maximum depth of 35 ft. It's also a popular fishing lake so paddlers need to steer clear of the many lines extending from shore.

Here's Anna just putting on her PFD, ready to launch.

And here's Kari & her friend Stef paddling out of sync.

It was a good place for my first paddle as I had no experience with a kayak. I took the boat there twice but since that first summer, haven't been back as it's a very limited place to paddle, and the Forest Preserve charges a launch fee - $5 per day or $25 for a season. Not worth it to me.
