Why is the US the only industrialized nation in the world that has not adopted the metric system?Worse yet, why is the US the only country of ANY significance that is still not metric. There are only two other countries in the world who are not officially metric.
The short answer is "Ronald Reagan".
The long answer is that we are so big and arrogant in the world market place that we don't feel any need to conform to the rest of the world.
