The Great Mysto Presents

THE SECRETS OF MAGIC

Paper Levitation

The magician takes a piece of tissue paper and rolls it into a ball. At his command, it slowly rises and floats in mid-air!

The Secret:

A thin silk thread actually supports the paper ball. It is fastened to the back of the magician's collar, and runs over his ear. The other end is wadded into the paper ball as it is rolled between the magician's hand. By slowly extending his hand, the magician causes the paper ball to gradually rise.

After the magician has lowered the ball to the tray, he can pick it up and toss it out to the audience for examination. The thread easily slips out with little resistance.

The trick may be repeated with different colors of tissue paper. The audience can select which color will be levitated.

If the silk thread is thin, it should not show up under most lighting conditions. However, bright lighting from the back should be avoided, if possible.
