Sawing a Woman in Half
In this classic stage illusion, a woman is placed in a large box, with her head, feet, and arms outside. The box is then sawed in half and separated. When the box is placed back together, the woman steps out unharmed.
The Secret:
As you can see, there are actually two women. One is hidden in the thick table, and provides the appearance of the feet.
There are actually many different methods used to accomplish this famous illusion. The one presented here is probably one of the most historic.
