The Overby Part of the Web

Two new sets of pictures have now been posted, one each for Emma and Sarah. Also, you might notice a new button for "The Girls' Archive". This button replaces the one for Emma's Archive because now Sarah's older pictures are on that site. Right now, there are the first ten sets of pictures for Sarah on the archive site. Eventually, there will be a separate archive site for Sarah but for now the girls will share a site.

As for what is going on here, Emma is getting ready to begin swimming lessons again. She really enjoyed them the first round and has made a lot of progress since taking them. Each time she goes to our neighborhood pool, she gets better and better. She is also getting excited to begin dance lessons even though they do not begin until September!

Sarah continues to talk more and more. However, her favorite word right now is "No"! I guess every toddler's favorite word is no. She can shake her head yes but she would rather say no. Oh well...

We haven't really taken too many more pictures lately but thought it would be nice to let everybody know what is going on with us.

Currently, Emma is busy taking swimming lessons. She is having a great time doing and is really getting the hang of it. She finishes up these level one lessons this week and probably sometime next month will be able to take the level two lessons. She loves going to the pool in our neighborhood and we are sure she will be wanting to go even more once she finishes swimming lessons.

Sarah is learning to enjoy the pool too. Right now she mostly likes walking around the outside of the pool and every now and then she will get into it on the top two steps at the pool. However, she always wants to go to the pool because everytime we drive by it, she starts saying "Pool! Pool! Pool!" Unfortunately, she won't be old enough to start lessons until next summer unfortunately but we are sure she will get the hang of it fairly quick once she decides to start really getting into the pool.

Sorry for the long time in between updates. There are finally some pictures of Emma's 3rd birthday as well as many other new pictures from the last two months since her birthday. We didn't end up with as many pictures as we thought we would because we spent more time taking video with our new digital camera.

There are also two new updates of Sarah as well. She is getting bigger everyday and becoming more of a little girl instead of a toddler.

We know it has been a while since we updated the pictures, but better late than never. There are two new albums in both Emma's and Sarah's section and there are a couple of new pictures in the Emma and Sarah collage section.

Today is actually Emma's third birthday! It is so hard to believe that she is 3 years today. Tomorrow she is having a big party to celebrate; there are supposed to 22 kids at her party. We will have lots of pictures from that and promise to update soon after the party.

In the Emma and Sarah section, there are now two pictures of the girls. These are the pictures that appeared on our Christmas cards this year. The pictures turned out well considering the fiasco we had getting them made.

We have now implemented the capability to leave comments on this front page. Under an entry, just click on the appropriate link and leave a comment. In addition to a RSS feed for this blog, there is a RSS feed for the comments for those of you that use RSS feeds. Let's give it a go to see how well it works!

Emma's albums 24-30 have now been moved over to her archive site. To go view those, click on Emma's Archive link to the left. This was done to make some more room for new pictures including Christmas pictures which are on the way soon.

Both Emma's and Sarah's sections have a new album for your viewing pleasure. There will be another update soon with lots of Christmas pictures. Stay tuned.

The pictures made at the girls' daycare are now up for viewing. We think these are the best pictures yet of Emma to be made at daycare and the picture of Sarah is quite good as well. Have a look in the new section Emma & Sarah.

We have started a new category of pictures as you might have noticed to the left. A new tab entitled "Emma & Sarah" will contain various portrait shots. The first shots added to this section are from Christmas 2004. These particular photos are quite small and cannot be enlarged unfortunately because that is the size of the files we received. As new portrait shots become available, they will be added here. Check back soon as we just received the girls' fall daycare pictures. They will be scanned soon and added asap.

The girls had a big time trick-or-treating on Halloween. Sarah did not last as long as Emma but did enjoy her first time out. The picture here shows Sarah in her ladybug outfit and Emma in her cow outfit with Mommy in the back. More pictures will be added soon.

Sarah turned 1 year old today! It is hard to believe she is that old now. You can see some pictures from her birthday party in a new set. The picture to the right is Sarah digging into some birthday cake. Needless to say, she liked the cake and wanted more.

Emma's archive has been updated with a makeover. Sarah's archive is still in the works.

It has been brought to our attention that some people are not able to see the pictures. This is unfortunately a problem with Internet Explorer on Windows. I will save you the speech about why that is an inferior computing platform but here is a link to go get the latest version of Java which is needed to view the pictures. You can thank Microsoft for these problems.

[Update] A friend suggested another work around. Instead of using Internet Destroyer, use a browser that is standards compliant. If standards compliant doesn't ring a bell with you, it basically means that it plays nice with the internet in a very non-threatening way. Also, it is a more secure browser as well. You can get it here or click on the Firefox badge to the left.

Here we go with some more pictures. A lot has happened since the last update. The girls got to spend time with their Grammy Kathy and Grandpa Edlefson in Michigan as well as go to Illinois to see their Great Grandpa and Grandma Edlefson. The girls also got to see the Edlefson farm in Illinois.

Back home in Charleston, Emma has moved up to a new room at daycare where the emphasis is on potty training. Sarah is getting big and rapidly approaching her first birthday. Within the last week, she has started walking on her own.

Finally we have welcomed a new member of the family with the birth of Emma and Sarah's newest cousin, Lauren Riley. This is Jordyn's younger sister, born on September 14. We hope to see her personally back in Tennessee as soon as we can.

As for new pictures, there are three new sets, two of Emma and one of Sarah. Work is still progressing on the backup site for Emma and Sarah both and hopefully will be up soon with fresh old material. Once these sites are up, there will be new links to them here. Stay tuned!

We know it has been a very long time since we updated this site. We are sincerely sorry about the delay but those with kids, especially when there is more than one, know the ins and outs of dealing with them on a daily basis. Nevertheless, here we go with a very big update since it has been almost nine months since the last one.

The first thing you will notice if you have been here before is that the site has been completely redesigned. The old site served us well but it was getting a bit long in the tooth and quite outdated. So, some modernization was in order here. To the right is a site index to all the pictures currently available.

Notice that Emma's pictures start at 24. The older pictures of Emma will be available on her archive site once it is updated. This is necessary because we are simply getting too many pictures of Emma to host on just one site now. An archive site for Sarah is still in the works to host her older pictures as well.

We have retired the photos of our house. If we do anything dramatic to the house, we will add some new pictures but as for the older pictures, they are no longer available on the web. If you are just dying to see them, ask and we will get them to you.

Check back regularly as we add more pictures and features. One feature in the works is a collection of movie clips made over the years. We are thinking about adding a comments page as well so that you can leave your own personal thoughts with us. We always love hearing from people.
