Shredded
Wheat Post cards
Shredded Wheat produced two
specific types of advertising post cards. The most commonly collected are Foyer cards. Foyer postcards were
given out as free souvenirs to visitors of the Shredded Wheat factory in the
foyer.of the plant, and visitors were encouraged to write notes to their
friends describing their visit. Many
messages on used cards bear this out.
Non-Foyer post cards served many different purposes, from order
forms for cookbooks to invitations and company notices of various sorts. I have separated these form the above cards
to simplify the listings. Many of these
are interesting, but usually not as colorful and collectible as the foyer
cards.
