The electric lines going to the hot tub usually are brought from
the main panel.
This would normally require a trench from the
structure to the tub area.
A separate GFCI disconnect (usually in a new subpanel) is also required. In most jurisdictions this is required to be no closer than 5' and no farther than 10' from the hot tub.
Since the hot tub will use a significant amount of power (about the same amount as used by an electric range with all the burners on), you may wish to consider a service upgrade.
