Born on April 19,
1978 in Abington, Jim grew up in Northeast
Philadelphia and attended Rhawnhurst
Elementary before moving to Plymouth on Thanksgiving of 1987, where he continued his
education in the Colonial School District,
graduating from Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School
in 1996. He went on to Drexel University, where he graduated cum laude in 2001,
receiving a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems,
with a minor
in Philosophy. Jim attended Temple University's
Beasley School of Law from 2001 to 2002,
where he learned a great deal, including the fact that he didn't want to become an
attorney. He returned to Drexel to begin his MBA at the
LeBow College of Business in January of 2003
and has completed several credits towards this.
Jim's involvement in the political arena stretches back nearly a decade.
He began as a volunteer for the successful Jon Fox for
Congress campaign in 1994. That same year, he founded the Plymouth-Whitemarsh High
School Republican Club, where he would serve as President for two years. He joined
the Montgomery County Young Republicans
in 1995, served a three year stint as Electronic Data Interface Director, and was twice presented with the Chairman's
Award for his work. At Drexel, Jim helped form a College
Republican organization, and served a one-year term as President. Jim also
served a year as Communications Director for the College
Republicans of Pennsylvania, managed two successful State Chairman campaigns,
represented Pennsylvania as a Delegate to the 2001 College
Republican National Convention, and was named Honorary State Chairman of Pennsylvania
in 2001. While at Temple Law, Jim served as President of the Republican Association and Day Vice
President of the Federalist Society (he
also developed their superb web pages.) After law school, Jim once
again became active in the Young Republicans, leading to his election as
an Executive Board Member of the
Pennsylvania Federation of Young Republicans (PAYR) in 2002, a
position he would hold for two terms, ending in 2006. During this
time, Jim was awarded the Bruce Fox Memorial Award by the Montgomery
County Young Republicans in January of 2004 for his many years of
service to the group and his efforts to formulate and implement a
regional recruitment plan and was honored with the PAYR Richard M. Nixon Man of the Year award
in June of that year for his extensive involvement in the political arena.
In April of 2005, Jim was elected Vice Chairman of the Montgomery County
Young Republicans. As Vice Chairman, Jim has worked with his
colleagues in registering voters, recruiting new members, building
greater relationships with the senior party, and helping candidates in
the 2006 elections. Beginning in 2004, Jim also became more
involved with his local party, accepting appointment as Technology
Director for the Area 6 Republican
Committee in 2004 and as Committeeman for Plymouth 1-1 in August
2006. He also served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Tom Gale for
State Representative in 2006. Jim is a member of Fritz Lodge #308 F&AM
in Conshohocken, PA and is a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association.
