Double & Multiple Stars
| I find double stars; especially binaries very interesting and never miss reading an issue of the Double Star Observer. I especially enjoy splitting a tight pair, or one with widely different magnitudes. Every so often I like tocapture the double on my CCD chip, so this page represent pleasant time spent simply doing something just to see if I can.. |

Epsilon Lyra Do you know an amateur or professional astronomer who hasn't looked at Epsilon Lyra on a clear summer night? At star parties, when seeing is poor and Ε-Lyra doesn't separate nicely in the large compound telescopes that abound thses days, a three inch refractor cleanly separates both pairs in silent testimony to the value of a high quality small telescope. I always enjoy showing this beautiful quartet to visitors at La Scala Observatory. Below are a sampling ofdoubles I have captured on my CCD. |
