The Elf-Dwarf War

The Elven Masters slowly withdrew their protection from their human servants settled outside of the Old Kingdom boundaries. This left defenseless human populations open to the attack of ruthless sub-human predator races. Elven Masters continue to require tribute of agricultural produce and mined mineral wealth.

 

The First Slaying of an Elf

Elven records show this event to be approx. ##### before the ########. A human tribe resentful of the burdensome tribute demanded cast the Elven collector from their lands. He and a few retainers returned to arrogantly resume control. Angry and embittered the humans slew the elven master. This first act open the floodgates to rebellion.

 

Early Nomadic Tribes 

Herders of sheep and cattle, fled the agricultural communities and the taxation of the elves. Elven masters or their human representatives were slain when they pursued our warrior ancestors. The shamans of these people were the first of humanity to which the Gods revealed themselves.

The Fall of the Old Kingdom and Early Farming Communities

Early fortifications were surrounded by farming communities. Banding together for mutual protection, these predessesors of the city-state resisted both orc raiders and failing elven domination.
