Weights and Measures
In the 23rd year of the reign of Bel-Szulgi-adad (789-822) weights and measures were standardized in the Empire. This was a practical decision, from a God-King much devoted to building, though without a doubt it also eliminated much tension in the marketplace. This system is based upon a system borrowed from the Dwarves (whose thicker fingers are often 2/3 inch wide). The Dwarves however, have several divisions smaller than the finger not in general use in the human population.
