2008 CCT
March
2, 2008. Perfect weather at 45-50 and sunny.
George, friend of Tim Hardy, both from Richmond, volunteered for the
day and worked the Browns Mill 9-mile and 17-Mile Aid Station. Hats off
to both of them, as they woke up at 3am to make it here.
Michael Bur's streak of consecutive CCTs ended with an oversleep
following the Greenway event, but he showed up with Lucy and snacks
at all the aid stations.
Minnie
Schuster, Michael Schuster, and Brian Wilson led
the way and passed by American mile record holder Alan Webb near the
Difficult Run parking lot.
Adam
Silber was with the main pack over all the rocks on the River Trail
then turned back.
At the Browns Mill Rd. Mile 9 Aid Station, local runner Ed Cacciapaglia
came by in reverse mode on a 20-miler from his house.
The Glade Rd. Turnaround Aid Station was manned again by Eric
Levy-Myers, with his son Asher chipping in moral support. Thanks
Eric!
David Kirby was beset by some bulky shoelace gussets which dug into his
feet and caused serious leg pain, which ended his day at the
last aid station.
Thanks also to faithful regulars
Vicki, Sniper, and Farouk for providing experienced trail navigation.
Until next year! - John
