Reiki - Spiritual/Vibrational Healing With Universal Life Force Energy
Reiki is the Japanese word for universal life force energy. This concept of universal life force is similar or congruent to a variety of other concepts and terms such as "chi," "prana," "ether," "kundalini," "spirit," and "orgone." Reiki healing is a system initiated by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui in the early 20th Century. It focuses on opening one-self to the flow of energy, while using one's awareness/intention and one's hands to focus the flow of energy for healing purposes. This is similar to the system of therapeutic touch developed by nursing professionals, as well as traditional laying on of hands spiritual healing and various metaphysical healing and shamanic healing practices. Reiki training includes a process called attunement, in which a master performs a procedure to open up the student's energy system to increased energy flow and power. Reiki is typically very relaxing and associated with brainwave patterns present during periods of meditation. Reiki is compatible with oriental healing concepts and techniques, such as the chakra and meridian systems of yoga and acupuncture/acupressure. Reiki is a therapy that is used to balance chakra energy flow and help cleanse, strengthen, and balance the aura/biofield. It can be used to accelerate healing of injuries and recovery from illness, and can be used to accompany any other health care treatments or spiritual interventions. Reiki healing methods can be used for oneself or others, and can facilitate transformation on multiple levels. While Reiki and similar methods are based upon spiritual and metaphysical principles, they have been validated by scientific data and exist on the cutting edge of the confluence between spiritual awareness and scientific exploration and have been used successfully to assist persons with a wide range of health concerns. Jed Shlackman is a Reiki Master and multi-talented healing professional and meta-researcher. Jed has been practicing Reiki in Miami since 1999 and teaching/attuning students since 2003. Reiki Level 1, 2, and 3 Classes Are usually offered On Saturday or Sunday Afternoons, lasting up to 4 hours (classes normally last about 3 and a half hours, sometimes a bit longer or shorter depending upon group size and other variables). Please call 305-259-0013 to sign up for a class. Classes are held in the Miami-Kendall, Miami-Dade County, Florida area, unless otherwise noted or you make special arrangements to host the class at another location.
Reiki Level 1 classes - Reiki "universal life force energy" is a powerful method of working with spiritual energy, intention, and intuition to facilitate healing. Reiki is something anyone can quickly learn to apply for themselves and to assist others - it is used by health care practitioners as well as ministers and laypersons to foster healing of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual concerns. Learn why millions of people are using Reiki to help create peace, balance, health, and well-being in their lives. Research and clinical reports have shown Reiki to benefit people with a variety of physical and psychological health challenges.
The Reiki 1 course includes an introduction to the history of Reiki and energy healing, the Usui Reiki principles, an overview of the energy system (chakras, meridians, auras), feeling energy flow with breath and visualization, Reiki treatment samples/demos, Reiki hand positions and methods, self-treatment, Reiki symbols, Reiki ethics, and further suggestions for developing one's healing ability. Attunement and certificate are included.
Reiki Level 2 classes - Advanced energy shifting techniques, sharing reiki with the public and practice healing others. Practice in methods of increasing energy awareness. Chakra balancing/clearing and energizing. Distance healing and distance healing symbol. Dowsing - communicating with higher consciousness. Using sound and color with healing. Includes second level attunement and certificate. Practice as much as you can after finishing the class!
Reiki Level 3 classes - More advanced concepts and practice. The master symbol, master level attunement, and how to attune others. Psychic clearing and protection methods. Higher-self connection and staying centered. Handling unsettling situations. Reiki as a path to spiritual and personal growth. Teaching Reiki to others. More practice with energy scanning and healing sessions. Increasing confidence and trust in higher guidance. Communicating with clients about energy patterns and intuitive messages. Includes master level attunement and certificate.
Students who choose to learn to practice Reiki are strongly encouraged to read books on Reiki in addition to learning the materials and exercises presented in the workshops. A list of Reiki books is available on this page as well as in the Reiki 1 workshop handout.
