1977 Kawasaki KD100-M2
Here's a 1977 KD100-M2 that my niece and I are restoring. She wanted to learn
how to wrench and ride so we found an old pile to tear down and fix up.
We found a roller on eBay for $20 that had a bunch of good parts still hanging off it and
spent an afternoon breaking both bikes down and picking the best from the lot. Got a front tire
and Maggie cleaned up the wheel and did most of the work mounting it. Turns out she's sharp as
a tack, pretty good with her hands and not afraid to get dirty.
School is important and it got a little too cold to spend much more time on the bike this winter,
but come next summer things will come together.
Next up is cleaning, de-greasing, a little body work and then a lot of painting. When all the parts look
as good as possible we'll re-assemble it. After a carb re-build and tune-up everything should be
groovy and it'll be time to learn to ride.
