1979 Yamaha XS Eleven Special

Granted this one is a little rough and definitely fits into the rat bike class but she runs like a top. Someone added a few high-perf goodies back in the day like a Supertrapp exhaust and a Kerker oil cooler. All it takes it a little twist and it's easy to hear the sport-bikes of the future lurking in her genes.

Found a nice stock replacement seat, replaced the tires with some Dunlop 404s, installed a new battery, plugs, front brake pads, straightened a few things up and cleaned off some of the grease.

Well the old Musclerat hauled me fine with power to spare but I felt like John Wayne on a shetland pony so down the road she went. I made a few bucks on the deal and got the satisfaction of giving the old girl a new lease on life. The guy that bought her was about five foot nine and maybe a buck sixty soaking wet. You should of seen the grin on his face...

Here's how she looked when I got her home.

Not sure what people were thinking with that style of seat.

I was thinkin', "Hey Wyatt! Where's Billy?" when I saw it.

Even without the duct tape the seat would have been the first thing to go.
Nice lines for a late-seventies Japanese cruiser though...
