About Us!
The Bridgewater State College Alumni Chamber Choir is a unique organization composed of college alumni and members of the community singing together in a high quality chamber vocal ensemble. As Bridgewater State College's only "resident" choir, the BSCACC is one of just two college choirs in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which maintains a full scholastic-year schedule. Under the direction of Dr. Carol A. Nicholeris, who is both a BSC faculty member and alumna, the choir performs its music repertoire, ranging from early renaissance to current period pieces, oftentimes a capella.
Founded in 1989 by Dr. Jacob Liberles, Professor Emeritus of the Music Department at BSC, the Alumni Chamber Choir's annual performances include a Spring Concert, a Christmas concert, and performances at various college events throughout the year, such as the Bridgewater State College Alumni Weekend.
The Bridgewater State College Alumni Chamber Choir is affiliated with the Bridgewater State College Alumni Association and receives limited state funding for its activities. It is governed by an eight-member Executive Board elected from its voluntary membership. |
