Born and raised in Newport, Edwin Milham's earliest experience as a professional musician was in the boys' choir of Emmanuel Church. Trained in voice and conducting at the University of Massachusetts and New England Conservatory, he has conducted several church choirs, including that of Channing Memorial Church, Newport.
He is currently the Choirmaster of Trinity Church in Wrentham, Massachusetts. He has performed lead roles with the Savoyard Light Opera Company and in performances at Kaji Aso Studio in Boston. As a professional choral singer, he has worked in leadership positions for the Newport Music Festival and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. He has toured Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Hungary, Scotland and England as a featured soloist and conductor.
Having taught music for a decade and a half, Mr. Milham currently serves on the faculties of Bridgewater State College and the Franklin School for the Performing Arts. A multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, he is also a dedicated computer geek, specializing in digital printing and graphic design, and a certifiable British and Swedish car nut. |
