Stereo viewing in Vista and Windows 7
The latest versions of Stereoscopic Player, StereoPhoto Maker and
sView support Nvidia 3D Vision and most all other stereo viewing formats.
Set up the "ViewSourceWith" plugin for Firefox to open full size jpg pictures with your favorite applications.
Opening the full size image directly into any compatible application from Firefox
Click icon below:
ViewSourceWith
Viewing full size parallel and cross eyed pictures without any Java, Java Script, plugins or external viewers
Click one of the parallel format thumbnails to go to a page with a parallel and cross version. The pictures are actually full size but have been resized
by your web browser to 480 pixel width. Newer versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox have zoom functions that you can use to adjust the size of the pictures. The text may resize also. If your browser does not support zooming or will only zoom text, click the parallel or cross picture to go to a full size (2048x768) version. This full size picture will probably be resized by your browser to fit your screen.
Viewing the "Parallel" format thumbnails
Look wide-eyed at the screen until the left and right images fuse together to a single 3D image ("Free Viewing").
Once you have the first image fused, scroll down with your mouse wheel to view the other pictures.
Larger "Parallel" images may be free viewed or a viewing aid like
"Pokescope" may be used.
Free Viewing larger Cross-Eyed format pictures
Hold up your finger close to your eyes in front of the
picture and look at the finger cross-eyed (the only way you can see one
finger up close and not double vision). The two images should fuse into
one stereo image behind the finger. Keep viewing cross-eyed as you
focus on the fused picture.
Using Red-Blue Anaglyph Glasses
Anaglyph viewing is
available in StereoPhoto Viewer Applet, StereoPhoto Maker, Plugins and
other applications but does not work well with several of my pictures.
In fluorescent mineral collecting, color is everything, and the highly
saturated, nearly monochromatic colors emitted by some minerals would
be very difficult to reproduce in an anaglyph.
Using the StereoPhotoViewer Applet
For scalable, full size versions of the pictures,
viewable in several different stereo formats and a slideshow, click on "StereoPhotoViewer Applet".
A help screen is available from inside the applet or here.
(Recent Browser and Latest JAVA Required) Click the icon below to download the latest version of Java:

The Page Flip option ( for LCD Shutter glasses ) in StereoPhotoViewer Applet ( SPVA )
also requires an OpenGL Stereo enabled video card (Nvidia Quadro, etc.)
and Java 3D. To use the Page Flip option in Vista or Windows 7 it may be necessary to turn on "Triple Buffering".
Viewing with a JPS Plugin
For users of "Porta"
( no longer available ), "DepthCharge", "sView" and other jps plugins, click on the small parallel photo, then on the next page, click the shutter glasses icon. Or while viewing a stereo picture in StereoPhotoViewer Applet, push "s".
To download the sView, DepthCharge
or FreeJPSViewer plugins, click the icons.
Opening the image with an associated application
If a jps plugin is not installed but an application such as StereoPhoto Maker,
the Nvidia Stereo Viewer or any graphics program that recognizes the ".jps"
file extension is associated with jps images on your computer, clicking the shutter glasses icon should open that application. Or while viewing a stereo picture in StereoPhotoViewer Applet, push "s".
Users of Internet Explorer and StereoPhoto Maker (SPM)
In the SPM preferences, enable the "IE Context Menu", then, in Internet Explorer, right click on any of the large photos and select "Open with SPM".
For a slide show, right click on the SlideShow link provided on each page and select "Open with SPM".
