Quote of the
Month, July

Never say never, for if you live long enough, chances are you will not be able to abide by its restrictions. Never is a long, undependable time, and life is too full of rich possibilities to have restrictions placed
upon it.

Gloria Swanson
(1899 - 1983)

  Quote of the Month, June
You're never a loser until
you quit trying.
~from a Fortune Cookie at the Merc

  Quote of the Month, May
Because I am a woman, I must make unusual
efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say,
'She doesn't have what it takes.' They will say,
'Women don't have what it takes.'
~Clare Boothe Luce (1903 - 1987)

 Quote of the Month,  April
I repeat, sir, that in whatever position you place a woman she is an ornament to society and a treasure to the world. As a sweetheart, she has few equals and no superiors;
as a cousin, she is convenient; as a wealthy grandmother with an incurable distemper, she is precious; as a wet-nurse, she has no equal among men. What, sir, would the people of the earth be without woman? They would be scarce, sir, almighty scarce.
~Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens) 1835 - 1910

                        Quote of the Month, March
There are new words now that excuse everybody. Give me the good old days of heroes and villains, the people you can bravo or hiss. There was a truth to them that all the slick credulity of today cannot touch.
~Bette Davis, The Lonely Life, 1962 (1908 - 1989)
