On December 3rd, a group of 11 Jardineras
enjoyed lunch at Terra. Terra is located at 1119 Alameda and
was recently awarded four stars. The most famous lunch choice
is the crab cakes. Many of the Jardineras enjoyed the cobb salad
and the soups.
I would like to finalize the ratings for
the 2009 restaurants. Please, review the list and
give me your inputs. Based on prior inputs, I have a list. I
realize that many of you did not attend each fabulous place.
The list is based on quality, presentation and taste, price,
service. And the final question, would you recommend this place
or return for a second time and a third. Four Stars, yes we must
return,
three stars, good and definitely return, two stars, maybe return,
one star, it may be worth one more visit, under different circumstances.
What do you think ladies ? I think all 12 choices were great.
1. La Provence ****
2. Terra ****
3. St Claire Winery ***
4. Casa Benavidez ***
5. Chez Axel ***
6. La Fonda del Bosque ***
7. Nick & Jimmys ***
8. Savoy Bar & Grill **
9. Zea **
10. Mykonos **
11. China Luck *
12. Annie's Soup Kitchen *

On
November 5th, The Out To Lunch Group taveled to a new restaurant,
Nick
& Jimmy's
located on Pan American frontage road,
owned by Yannies on Central.
A lovely group of ladies (8) enjoyed
a terrific lunch.
The menu selection included various choices of seafood, lamb,
pizza, and assorted salads.
The Out To Lunch group gave
Nick & Jimmy's a "must return"
for lunch or dinner with husband or fireinds. This is a keeper.

The Out
To Lunch Group traveled to China Luck on San Pedro for Chinese.
The attendees for the lunch was nine. The lunch menu at China
Luck was extensive. However, several expressed their disappointment
with character of flavor and spices. The food was not spicy and
served buffet style.

On September
3rd, ten Jardinerans traveled to
La Provence for the most delicious lunch.
It truly is a piece of France right here in Nob Hill.
The selection, service, and textures of lunch were the best.
The only fault we found was the noise level was a tad high. However,
we definitely enjoyed the lunch and recommend it to the rest
of the Jardinerans.

August 6 a group of 17 ladies enjoyed lunch at the St. Claire
Winery on Rio Grande. The food was delicious and the company
fabulous. In addition, The Out To Lunch Bunch enjoyed a mini
wine (Cabernet ) and Champagne (Brut) tasting. It was fun. The
next outing will be to La Provence on September 3.

On
July 1, The Out To Lunch Bunch enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Mykonos,
a Greek Restaurant located on Eubank and Juan Tabo. Mykonos interior
is decorated in white and blue, true to Greek design. Mykonos
is a very large setting and the walls are adorned with Greek
Murals.
The
food was excellent and the group of eight enjoyed both the food
and visiting. Mykonos is a definite keeper and we plan to return,
often.

We met June
4 at La Fonda del Bosque
at the National Hispanic Cultural Center for lunch.
We were a Group of eight.
We
left The Merc at 10:00 and decided to view the current exhibit
at the Hispanic Cultural Museum.
It is titled "Meso-Americhanics" de la Torre Brothers
and Border Baroque. It is a very intricate blown glass and mixed-media
works of Jamex and Einar de la Torre experiences of living in
an increasingly global society filled with hybrid, immigrant,
and transnational experiences.
It is an interesting exhibit. Worth the trip.
In
addition, on view is the Margaret Herrerra oils and Santiago
Perez painting titled Aztec Pilots which is on the front
page of the Santa Fe Tourist magazines.
The food at Fonda del Bosque was excellent, the service was great
and we enjoyed visiting for two hours.
In addition, we visited the tiendita.
Our Next Out To Lunch group will meet at The Merc at 11:15 and
travel to Mykonos for some delicious Greek Food.
