Dear Ms. Fredrikson,

Thank you so very much for your generous donation of $----- to benefit the clients of Empowering Our Communities - New Mexico. We have used these monies in a variety of ways to help clients in our Home Placement Programs.

A portion of these funds was used to offset the cost of pumping the septic tank for a resident in our Shelter+Care Program. This client has been in our Shelter+Care Program for two years and has made remarkable progress. When he entered the Program, he carried with him two bags, bags which held all of his possessions. Currently, he remains in his home and will be graduating with an AA degree in Computer Drafting - he has a 4.0 average! This individual has been very worried about how he was going to cover the cost to maintain his septic tank and there are no other funds to help with these kinds of expenses.

Two Mothers were able to purchase school supplies needed for their children's return to school. As you know, these supplies can really make an important difference in these childrens' academic and social success in the classroom! First, the children have the materials they need to complete their assignments and projects. Second, the children are spared any embarrassment for not having what they need because their families are low-income, that is they are spared the social stigma associated with poverty.

Again, thank you for the kindness and compassion you have demonstrated by providing these funds to help us assist families to maintain their home and help their children get the education they deserve!

Thank you for your $----- contribution. The timing of your gift was quickly put to use - a mother and her 14-year-old son - both with asthma - had nowhere to stay - the shelters available to them would not allow 14-year-old boys, so we housed them for 2 nights and applied the rest to a deposit.

Both mother and son are housed - the mother holds 2 jobs, and the son is doing well in middle school and is an excellent soccer player.

Your gift kept this family out of the cold!
