We received your generous check and are making plans to use it in the manor {sic} that you have requested. Keep your eyes out for our notice in the upcoming Signpost that talks about our first ever "Community CPR Classes." By your groups generous contributions to us we can now reach out to our community to better prepare them for this type of emergency with no charge to Placitas residents! We hope to be able to put these threee classes on and then plan for additional classes in the upcoming months. It has worked out nicely and we enjoy being "Partners in our Community," which by the way is this years EMS Week (May 17th to 23rd) theme this year. Thank You again. Sal Gullo, Chief

July 21, 2008 Jardineros de Placitas Dear Friends, I wish to acknowledge receipt of your $------- donation to the Placitas Fire Department. Even though we receive some state fire funds for our operation, many of our departmental needs can only be fulfilled by local donations such as yours. We get a great deal of satisfaction serving our community on a volunteer basis. It is a deep sense of joy in knowing that we are helping our friends and neighbors during difficult times. Whether it is a medical emergency or a fire call, we want to respond quickly and with the necessary equipment to best address the problem. Donations such as yours makes that possible. But such funds fall well short of providing the necessary funding to make our department 'all that it can be.' It is a pleasure to serve our community.
