How to donate to Peanut Butter & Jelly Family Services:
For Jardineros Members only, the donation policy effective March 2009 is the following: Call Lupita at 867-2356, between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Thursday, so that she can arrange for someone to meet you at your convenience to drop off items. Make the same call if you have large items that need to be picked up in Placitas. Remember that badly damaged furniture, unsafe or broken toys, furniture, and equipment, cannot be used. Usually the phone call to Lupita can establish whether old items can be used.

Dear Pat, Janice & members:

PB&J Family Services is blessed by your ongoing commitment and generous contributions. We received your recent donation of $-------- (Ck #849) which has been designated to the Therapeutic Pre-school program at our Bernalillo site! We are truly grateful for the support and belief you continue to have in our agency and the work we do within Sandoval County.

Lynn Twist, a renowned activist, commented that agencies such as PB&J (and I would include so many of the projects you support) are not merely "non-profits," but "social-profits," benefiting the social fabric of our community. For 40 years, PB&J has been providing comprehensive and hands on services so at-risk children can grow to their full potential. We could not do this work without you! Please let each of the members know that PB&J is open to them for a tour, questions, ideas, or for help, should they ever know someone in need.

Thank you for believing in our mission, projects, children and families! If you have any questions or would like to have Dina attend a meeting to speak to the group about PB&J and how your donations help support our pre-school, we are always available to you and can be reached at 877-7060, or via e-mail @ dina@pbjfamilyservices.org. Once again, please accept our sincere thanks for your generosity of spirit and gift!

December 5, 2011

Dear Friends at Jardineros de Placitas,

Thank you! With your help, we did something amazing! With more than 250 local volunteers, PB&J Family Services, Sandoval County Bernalillo Sr. Center, Humana Inc., and KaBOOM!, we built a one-of-a-kind, multi-generational playground at the Sandoval County Bernalillo Senior Center / PB&J Family Services Therapeutic Preschool in Bernalillo's Loretto Park.

Sometimes it does take a village!

Together with your help and Humana's donation, we created a lasting neighborhood legacy that will encourage helathy play and well-being in Bernalillo. The unique space has senior-focused and adult elements, such as fitness stations and walking paths, to promote good posture, balance and flexibility - as well as more traditional, kid-friendly equipment to build a truly multi-generational space. The project will create a family reunion gathering area to inspire family picnics and get-togethers at Loretto Park for years to come.

Visit it anytime. And when you do, be sure to drop in to PB&J and the Sr. Center to say hello! We would love the chance to thank you in person!

In partnership in nurturing our community,

Dear Jardineros de Placitas:

It was a pleasure visiting with everyone at the June Jardineros de Placitas Garden Club meeting. I was so taken by the warmth and generosity.

Thank you for inviting me to speak. As promised I designated your donation ($--------) to support our families.

Next week there will be 20 children graduating from our Bernalillo sites Therapeutic Preschool. Each family came to PB&J vulnerable and needing support. We are delighted to see their parents, now confident and involved in their development and transitioning them to either Head Start or Kindergarten.

We could not do this without you. PB&J is grateful for the years of support that Jardineros de Placitas has extended to our children and families.

I look forward to visiting again. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to bring us your ideas and questions. My door is always open to you as is our gratitude! Once again, please accept our sincere thanks for your generosity of spirit and gift.

Dear Jardineros de Placitas:

On behalf of PB&J Family Services, Thank You! We are so appreciative of the on-going support from the women of Jardineros de Placitas, as well as the recent donation of $---------.

As you know, PB&J's mission is to provide services and programs so at-risk children can grow to their potential. In hopes to achieving this mission, our families are provided with therapeutic support, case management, counseling, parenting classes, health care, nutritional instruction and food. Last year PB&J worked with over 2000 children and parents - approximately 200 more than the previous year and are many more waiting for our help. After 37 years of experience, we know the harsh reality is that family violence rises in times of economic instability. Our response is to remain focused on our mission and to continue to thank groups like yours, who in part through donations enable us to continue this critical work.

Should any of you have questions about PB&J Family Services, would like a tour, or are interested in having someone from our agency come out to conduct a presentation, we would welcome the opportunity. You may contact me at 877-7060 or via email at dina@pbjfamilyservices.org. You may also visit us online at www.pbjfamilyservices.org. Again, many thanks to all of you!

In Sincere Appreciation,

Karen Fischer

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your donation of many children's books from your organization for the Bernalillo PB&J site. The teachers just loved them and put them in use immediately. Your organization's generosity demonstrates the care it has not only for our agency but also for our community as a whole. A simple "thank you" just never seems enough to acknowledge your support of PB&J.

PB&J's mission is to help at-risk children grow and develop to their full potential in nurturing families within a supportive community. Every year we serve nearly more than 1500 children and families in eight major programs, which include the Peanut Butter & Jelly Therapeutic Preschools in Albuquerque and in Bernalillo.

Again, thank you for your caring hearts and for being a part of our community. Together we are making a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable.

With deepest appreciation,

Thank you for the caring and supportive choice you made by giving this donation and celebrating with us the valuable work we are providing for children. Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated and vitally important to our ever-expanding work of serving children and strengthening families. We see it as love in action.

Know that your gift goes to help support our abuse prevention and treatment programs. We serve nearly a thousand families and some 1,500 individuals annually in our ten major programs, which include the Peanut Butter and Jelly Therapeutic Preschools in Albuquerque and Bernalillo.

Together we can make a difference for the people we serve. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child and we are so pleased that you are part of our village. We appreciate the financial help and your giant heart.

January 22, 2007

Dear Friends:

We are so very thankful for the generosity you shared with PB&J families during our 2006 Holiday Wish Program. On behalf of all the families in our programs, and our staff, we want to thank you for the caring choice you made. By giving, you also display confidence in PB&J's mission. It warms our heart to know community members understand the needs of our less fortunate children and their families, and are more than willing to respond with open hearts and kindness simply because they were asked.

Our families received wonderful and thoughtful gifts such as: food boxes and food gift cards, PNM vouchers, household items and small appliances, clothing, and warm jackets. And our precious children were well provided for with: toys, puzzles, arts and craft materials and warm clothing, jackets, gloves and hats. This community's generosity truly reflects that "the most important things in life are not things."

A simple "thank you" never seems enough to acknowledge your support for PB&J. Please know that you and your efforts are appreciated by many. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child and we are so pleased you are a part of our village. We are grateful for your generosity and your giant heart.

Warmest greetings to you and yours, and all of us at PB&J wish you a safe and joyous new year.

Winter 2006

Dear Friends of PB&J:

At this time of year, we are reminded of how truly blessed we are to have wonderful supporters like you! We are constantly working to find innovative, effective ways to break what too frequently is an intergenerational cycle of family dysfunction. Your gift will make it possible for us to help parents learn the skills they need to provide safe - and loving - homes for their children and to assure these youngsters have a brighter future. These contributions will also enhance our child abuse prevention and treatment programs, including the Peanut Butter & Jelly Therapeutic Preschools.

As we prepare for a new year, we're proud of the fact that we are well positioned to be able to serve more than 1,500 individuals and their families in our various programs during the coming year. In all our programs we strive to prevent family violence, reduce family dysfunction and provide support so that the children are raised in safe and nurturing homes. Our programs have excellent outcomes. Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated and is vitally important to our ever-expanding work of serving children and strengthening families. We see it as love in action.

Please know there are many ways PB&J will use your contribution to help parents and children. We are honored to say thank you and let you know how very much we appreciate your support commitment to our organization. March 22, 2006

Dear Jardineros de Placitas,

You have been a wonderful supporter of PB&J Family Services during the years. Because we value your support and commitment to PB&J, we wanted to let you know that our co-founder and longtime Executive Director, Angie Vachio, has decided to retire in 2006. The Board of Directors has established a Transition Committee, made up of Board members, to actively lead the transition process.

We wish to assure you that the transition will not disrupt the work of the agency. The Transition Committee will begin accepting applications for the Executive Director position on March 19, 2006 and hope that you will encourage possible successors to contact us.

Angie's shoes will be hard to fill but we have the utmost confidence that PB&J's experienced management and staff will make the transition as seamless as possible. All of us at PB&J are committed to helping troubled families learn the skills they need to provide safe and nurturing homes for their children.

Thank you for all that you have given to PB&J. We look forward to your continued support and confidence.

Very truly yours,
