The US Department of Education wants to give UNM-Los Alamos $90,000! But there's a catch . . . . . We have to match their funds. We need your help. Ms. Sharon Jones Dear Ms. Jones: I do not have to tell you what's so great about UNM-Los Alamos. You already know. Over the past 25 years, supporters like you have helped us bring quality programs to northern New Mexico. Thousands of students have benefited from your generosity. With an average class size of 15 students, and through the efforts of our skilled, dedicated faculty, UNM-LA is able to offer the kind of educational experience usually available only at a small private college at a community college price. Now UNM-Los Alamos needs your help to make the UNM-LA experience available to more students in our region. Whether the goal is an Associate Degree or transfer to a four-year program, it is our mission to make a college education available to every student, regardless of income level. Through our Bridge to Success Scholarship, we make it possible for freshmen to get started at college before the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship kicks in. Through our endowment scholarships, both academic and needs based, we're able to provide additional help to our students. Now, with your help, UNM-LA has the opportunity to do even more. The US Department of Education has offered to provide us with a $90,000 endowment, every penny earmarked for scholarships, if we can match their contribution within five years. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, UNM-LA offers you the opportunity to help us build a better future for more students in our region. We warmly welcome your investment in our future. Sincerely, (signed by) Dr. Carlos B.
Ramirez
