Running backs
- Onterrio Smith - This 5-10, 200 lb junior from
Oregon comes highly regarded. He is probably the quickest running
back in the draft. He has big upside potential. He will be one
of the first running backs taken. May go in the first. No later than
the second round.
- Lee Suggs - This 6-0 , 205 lb senior
from Virginia Tech is one of the better backs in the draft. He has
great speed . Had an ACL repaired a couple of years ago and performed
well this year, but it may enter into the decision to take him in a later
round.
- Larry Johnson - This 6-1, 220 lb senior
from Penn State is coming off a big year. Nice combination of speed,
size, strength and good hands. L.J. will probably go in the late first
round and may be the first back picked overall.
- Chris Brown - This 6-2 , 200 lb junior
from Colorado will go in the second or third round. More of a power
running than speed runner.
- Willis McGahee - This 6-0, 225 lb junior from
Miami was going to be the number one running picked in 2003 until he torn
his knee. He will still be taken in the second or third round by a team who
is willing to wait for him to recover.
