This page will give you a quick internet connection tour. It will cover both hosting and joining a Scrabble game on the internet.

One way to get your IP# is let someone else use ICQ to find it. They can get your IP# by clicking on your name in the online section of the ICQ windows, and then viewing the info option.

If you are behind a firewall, or a Cable/DSL router, you will not get your true IP# with IPQUERY, only a local internal IP#.


The first option you have when playing Scrabble on the internet is to host a game. BEFORE starting the Scrabble program, you need to know your IP#. You can use one of the methods above to find it. Once you know your IP# you are ready to start the game.

Now you need to use ICQ to let the other players know your IP# so they can connect.

Start the Scrabble game and once the it is running, choose New Game as shown below.
Be the Host

Now enter your name in the Player 1 section and for every player you expect select internet, and none for any un-needed players, then press the okay button.

Setup Players

Now you should see a screen like the one below.

Wait for Players

Wait here till all players connect and then press okay.


Now if you want to connect to another player's hosted game. First you will need to know the IP# where the game will be hosted. The host will give you the IP#.
Once you have it start Scrabble and select Join Game as shown below.

Join Game

Now you need to enter your name, and the IP# the host provided, and make sure internet is selected.
Then press the okay button.

Where is Host

Now you should see a screen like the one below. When you connect to the host you are ready to play.
