I haven't written much lately, but I really haven't had much to say. Took a kayaking trip to the Broken Group, paddled, and work.

This is more of a public service rather than a personal complaint. A friend of mine recently had his $700+ "waterproof" tent catostrophically fail on him. In the middle of a rainstorm, water started pouring through the single-walled ToddTex(R) fabric. Bibler bills this material as waterproof.

So, obviously miffed (not to mention soaking wet) my friend calls Black Diamond to see what they can do. In a word: Nothing. In three words: Go fuck yourself.

Unfortunately, I own a tent by the same company. Great. At least I bought mine at REI so I can return it if this ever happens to me...

Its been an interesting few weeks, make that months. On one hand I'd like to toss it all for a life in Bus 142; but alas, my mind (and commitments) outweigh my heart.

I was watching a movie today and an ad came on for a place called "Cash Call." Towards the end, they show this useful bit of information:

I'm not sure what makes me more mad: The fact that someone would charge someone 99.25% interest or that someone would be dumb or desprite enough to take it. The interest alone on this amounts to nearly $6500. Sickening. Want a sign of capitalism's enividable demise, you found it.
